Mt. Ararat, at 17,500ft, is a very climbable, if demanding, mountain to tackle. Apart from towering over the Middle-East, this Turkish mountain sits on the volatile borders of Armenia and Iran. Apart from its historical and religious significance, Mt. Ararat offered me a chance to tackle my first serious mountain, and a chance to return in 2003  to Turkey - a country I grew up in and love.
